How to choose a leather Chesterfield wingback chair
A Chesterfield chair should last for many years, so it is worth knowing what to look at before you buy. These are the questions our customers ask us most often.
Genuine cowhide or bonded leather?
Bonded leather is made from leather scraps glued onto a backing. It can look similar in a photo, but it often cracks and peels after a few years.
Ask the seller for the exact material and ask for samples. Our chairs are upholstered in 100% genuine cowhide leather. Small natural marks and colour differences are normal and show that it is real leather.
What is inside: frame and springs
The frame and the seat decide how long a chair stays comfortable. Ask what the frame is made of and whether the seat has springs or only foam.
Our Wingback Chair has a solid hardwood frame, a pocket spring seat and lacquered beechwood legs. It is made for long, comfortable sitting and holds up to 150 kg.
Hand-buttoned tufting
Deep buttoning is the signature of a Chesterfield. Done by hand, the leather folds evenly around each button. We cut the leather, upholster and set the buttons in our own family workshop in Poland.
